The heat is rising in Placer County, and if you’re like us at Simple Real Estate, one of your favorite ways to cool down is with a sweet scoop of ice cream. Lucky for all of us, the Roseville, Rocklin, and Lincoln area is home to some beloved ice cream shops. We hope you’ll use this list of local treasures the next time you need to beat the heat, stop for a post-park treat, or simply want to explore and enjoy the area. These indulgent spots are just one more thing to love about living in Placer County, and one of many great reasons to consider moving here.

Roseville Favorites

Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream

This place is a classic. It’s a national chain, but loved locally and totally worth all the hype. They offer both classic and seasonal flavors, along with indoor and outdoor seating options. The location (right across from the Galleria) is ideal, too, because you can stop for some indulgent ice cream on your way to and from shopping, errands, park play, or dinner.

Tokyo Cream

Tokyo Cream is located on Taylor Road in Roseville and offers a fun environment and unique flavors. Indulge in unexpected treats like a Boba Sundae, Japanese Ube, or – a fan favorite – Purple Rain and Tokyo Banana Cream.

Rocklin Gems

Flores Munchies

If you’re looking for ice cream with flair, you can’t beat Flores Munchies on Lonetree Blvd. in Rocklin. Customers note that this quaint establishment is often adding new and exciting items to their menu, which already includes classic favorites like shave ice and sundaes. You can expect a variety of cool treats like aguas fescas, Oreo milkshakes, and strawberry horchata.

Baskin-Robbins

It’s familiar, it’s reliable, and it’s conveniently located in the Rocklin Crossings shopping center. We find this one is a great choice for quick after-school treats or as a place to take your sports team after a particularly hot practice or game. There’s also plenty of shopping to be done in the surrounding area, and probably some local homes for sale, too!

Lincoln Treats

Leatherby’s Family Creamery

Leatherby’s is an absolute classic. Think family-owned charm, mountain-sized sundaes, and an old-fashioned atmosphere. It’s the place that can become a tradition, with families returning for generations. Come here for a family outing and linger in the hometown atmosphere while splitting a massive sundae – it’ll be a date to remember.

HomeSpun Yogurt

Okay, so this is technically frozen yogurt, not ice cream, but who doesn’t love a nice helping of FroYo on a hot summer day? The atmosphere here is fresh, fun, and clean. They have tons of flavor choices and even more toppings. Locals love that the establishment provides photo props, making a FroYo date even more fun and Instagrammable.

Whether you’re new to the area or a longtime local, these ice cream spots are a fun (and delicious) way to enjoy summer in Roseville, Rocklin, and Lincoln. At Simple Real Estate, we believe great neighborhoods start with great community (and maybe a double scoop of mint chip).
